Cumberland Valley Bed & Breakfast Association is comprised of eleven B&Bs stretching from Chambersburg in the West to New Cumberland in the East. Our members come from many and varied backgrounds, but all have the same aim - to give you a warm Pennsylvania welcome, and to make your stay with us as special as it can be.

Denise (Dee) Fegan is the current President of our Association and along with her husband, Chuck DeMarco, owns and operates Pheasant Field Bed & Breakfast outside of Carlisle, PA. The B&B is housed in a 200 year old brick farmhouse on a small farm where there is a horse boarding facility. Pheasant Field B&B opened in May 1994 with 4 guest rooms. In April 2004, they opened a new wing with 3 more guest rooms and some new office space.
Dee also serves on the Board of Directors of the PA Tourism & Lodging Association and PTLA’s Unique Lodging Committee. She is currently vice-president of the PA Farm Vacation Association, is immediate past chair of the Board of Directors of the Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors’ Bureau, and is a member of the local downtown merchants’ association and several area chambers of commerce.
Dee holds a BA from Wilson College and an MS from Shippensburg University. After working for the federal government in computer systems management - and lots of business travel in that position - she decided that there needed to be nicer places to stay than she had usually experienced on her business trips....and so Pheasant Field B&B was born. She is committed to supporting the hospitality industry and will continue to serve the tourism industry and the community in any way she can. Dee is the music director at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Mechanicsburg and in her spare time, this innkeeper likes to ski, kayak, and garden.
Chuck DeMarco (Dee's husband of 25 years!) holds a degree in accounting and retired from federal service, although Chuck says it’s not retirement, but rather a change in career. Chuck is quite a sports enthusiast and enjoys spending time with the canine innkeeper, Bubba.
Bubba, the B&B dog, is the all-American mutt, rescued from the West Shore Humane Society. Bubba loves greeting the guests and helping with breakfast clean-up. He is always ready to guide the guests on a short hike on the Appalachian Trail.

Mary Faller Duxbury, and husband Alan purchased the Carlisle House Bed & Breakfast in Historic Downtown Carlisle in March 2004. They decided to become innkeepers within a week of seeing their 1826 home for the first time.
Mary was born and raised in Carlisle, and Mary holds a BSc in Nursing from St. Joseph's College in Emmitsburg. She was an army nurse in Vietnam and travelled and lived all over the world with her first family, in countries as diverse asAustralia and Germany . Immediately before leaping into the unknown with the Carlisle House, Mary was Administration Manager with a Defense Contractor in Northern Virginia.
Alan found Mary after looking for forty years or so, and married her in 1999. Alan is a Fellow of the Institution of Analysts & Programmers and has spent 40 years in Information Technology. This probably explains why the Carlisle House has both wired and wireless connections throughout - he hates being far from a computer, and is never seen without his iPhone!
Like Dee Fegan, they have both travelled far and wide on business, and their two abiding principles of Innkeeping are "Don't nickel-and-dime the guests" and "It has to be a place that we'd like to visit".
Mary serves on the Membership Committee of the Greater Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce(GCACofC) and was 2005 "Ambassador of the Year". Alan serves as Chairman of the Education Committee of the GCACofC, and also as a main board Director, and they both attend as many functions as possible. They are members of the Downtown Carlisle Association, and Mary serves on the Board of Directors of Historic Carlisle Inc. They serve on the Unique Lodging Committee of the Pennsylvania Travel and Lodging Association, and Alan holds the position of President of the Cumberlanc County Lodging Association, and is also a member of the Cumberland County Tourism Board committee.
Despite all this, Alan still finds time to run his own business, ALDUX, as an IT and Telecommunications Consultant, and Web Site designer (including this one).
